Rumor: Siri Headed to Mac This Fall

Apple's virtual personal assistant could soon be headed to your Mac.

9to5Mac on Midweek, citing unnamed sources, reported that Apple is (finally) planning to bring Siri to Macs this fall alongside its next major Os X release. The motility wouldn't exist too much of a shocker, considering Apple last year expanded Siri to the Apple Watch and Apple tree TV.

Apple has been testing versions of Bone X with Siri "since at least 2022," the written report notes. Now, the user interface is finally set up for primetime.

"Instead of integrating Siri as a swipe menu akin to the Mac'south Notification Center or as a full screen view like on the iPhone and even the iPad Pro, Siri for the Mac will live in the Mac's Menu Bar," 9to5Mac reported. A new Siri icon in the summit correct corner of the Card Bar will reportedly fire up the voice control feature.

When you click the Siri button, a "dark, transparent Siri interface will appear in the meridian right corner of the screen," according to the report. Only like on the iPhone, you'll meet colorful sound waves when you're asking Siri something.

In that location will also exist an option to choose a keyboard shortcut to activate Siri on your Mac. Even easier, when your Mac is plugged in, you'll simply be able to say "Hey Siri" to bound the digital assistant into activeness, just like you tin can with iOS 9.

Apple is expected to denote the next major version of its Mac operating arrangement — Bone Ten 10.12 — at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, so stay tuned.
